Bookstore and Rectory Library

Is there anyone who would like to take on the church bookstore?  It is not a profitable business.  Father Dana has tried to restock it a couple of times a year (especially around Advent with Christmas items).  He has tried to keep prices down and has sometimes supplemented it with his own money.

Along the lines of books....there is a little library in the basement of the rectory - a lot of novels, stories about saints, theology, bibles, etc.  Feel free to stop by the rectory during office hours and check it out.  The check out and return will be on the honor system at this time.  Father has them grouped by topic, but not tagged.  A lot of the books were donated and he didn't have the heart to throw them out, which is the reason for the library.  A lot of the "dust jackets" were in bad shape.  He recreated about 200 new jackets (by scanning them in and using Photoshop to repair and reprinted them).  He then covered them with plastic.

Father's Day Masses

Anyone wanting to submit names for the Masses on Father's Day, June 19, can do so by picking up an envelope at the church entrances, stopping by or calling the parish office at 462-2179.  Deadline for submitting names is Tuesday, June 14.

Picture Directory Update

We are looking at the end of May to publish the new directory.  Pictures can be submitted at any time through email or by sending a picture that can be scanned.  Remember to include the names of those in the picture.  If you do not have a picture you can come by the rectory by May 13 to have one taken.  Father would really like to have as complete of a directory as possible.  It is a great help for parishioners (especially new parishioners and new pastors) to get to know their parish family.  Please, make an effort to do this!

Queen Mary Garage Sale

The Queen Mary Circle will be hosting their annual garage sale to be held in the school gym on Friday, June 3, from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, June 4, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Items may be dropped off at the gym beginning May 23.  If you have any questions, call Marilyn Friesen.  All proceeds will be used for charitable projects.  Come out and support this worthy cause

Going Away Party

The Knights of Columbus and Family Life Commission are sponsoring a going away picnic for Fr. Dana and Fr. David on Sunday, June 19, at 5:00 p.m., in the Sacred Heart School parking lot.  There will be pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans, chips, cookies, and water.  Bring your own lawn chairs, hats, and sunscreen.  This is a free meal and all are welcome to come show their appreciation to both of these men who have done so much for us.  Any donations would be appreciated to help defray costs and may be dropped off at the Parish Office.
