Help Needed

We are looking for someone to volunteer to help with the washing of the Mass Server Albs and at times, some light mending.  Sacred Heart Church has had someone doing this that was very dedicated.  At this time, the person wants to give up doing this and would like to see if someone new would volunteer.  The person who has been doing this is more than willing to train the new person in what needs to be done in this process.  Please pray about it.  Contact Jeannie Solko at the Parish Office for more information and if you war willing to volunteer.  Thank you!

Are You Registered? Are you getting contribution envelopes and parish mailings?  If not, you may not be registered!  Many times, parishioners think that they are registered, but actually, they are not.  This misunderstanding can easily happen.  Please contact the Parish Office at 462-2179 and Brandi can make sure that you are registered!

Catholic News - Catholic World News

  • During a press conference on his return flight from Switzerland, Pope Francis weighed in on ecumenism, migrants and refugees, and peace. He also said that he authorized Cardinal-designate Luis Ladaria Ferrer’s recent letter blocking a proposal by the German bishops’ conference that would have allowed Protestant spouses of Catholics to receive Communion on a regular basis. The crux of the issue, said the Pope, is that canon law permits a diocesan bishop, not a bishops’ conference, to permit non-Catholic Christians to receive Holy Communion in limited circumstances. The Vatican, the Pope added, is preparing a “a guiding document, so that each of the diocesan bishops can manage what canon law already permits.”

  • Pope Francis and Swiss President Alain Berset “underlined the need for a pan-European refugee policy based on solidarity” during their June 21 meeting in Geneva, according to a statement from the Swiss government. “An important topic of the bilateral talks was the search for solutions for peace in conflict areas in the Middle East and the situation of certain religious minorities, including in Myanmar.”

  • Pope Benedict XVI devoted a 2007 general audience to Pope St. Clement I.
