School Carnival

The annual school carnival will be Sunday, February 28th, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Lunch will be served in the church basement from 11:00 - 1:00.  Fun and games for everyone of all ages will conclude with a drawing for 20 individual raffle prizes.  You need not be present to win.  Sacred Heart School is in need of donations for the bingo room, stuffed animals and glassware for the upcoming carnival.  They can be new or gently used items.  Raffle tickets are $1 each or 12 for $10.  All Sacred Heart students should have them available for sale.  If you have any questions, contact the school office at 460-2813.

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday Masses will be February 10 at 8:15 (children's Mass), 12:05 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  A sign-up sheet for the ministries at the 12:05 p.m. and the 7:00 p.m. Masses is located in the foyer of the church.  Just a reminder that Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fasting (for those 14 through 59) and abstinence from meat (for those 14 and over).  The Fridays of Lent remain days of abstinence.

Rally for Religious Freedom

The Catholic Bishops of Kansas and others concerned about the future of religious freedom will be hosting a Rally for Religious Freedom on February 17, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., inside the Kansas State Capitol Building, under the dome.  A large turnout is strongly encouraged to demonstrate to Kansas lawmakers that support for religious freedom in Kansas is strong.  Let's make this as successful as the rally in 2012, which garnered national attention and was broadcast live on EWTN. We will have outstanding speakers including Ryan Anderson of the Heritage Foundation.  I will hope to see you there! ~Bishop Weisenburger
