In need of help???

Prayer and Action will be here the entire month of June.  Jeannie Solko is the local parish coordinator for this mission experience and she is compiling a list of work to be arranged for the youth and their sponsors while they are here.  No job is too big or too small.  Anything that needs to be done on the outside or inside of your house would be great projects.  Fixer-up projects, painting, raking, mowing, washing windows, and general cleaning, are just some of the ideas on the list.

We are also in need of tools to complete these projects for the Prayer and Action workers.  These tools would be loaned out for the four week period.  The list seems endless but does include 30-40 ladders, step stools, garden tools (rakes, shovels), paint brushes, paint scrapers, a shop vac, tree saw, chainsaw, handsaw, pole saw, mowers, trimmers, edgers and a couple of pick-ups (older) for staff to deliver paint, supplies, ladders, etc.  Everything borrowed will be labeled and returned in a timely manner after Prayer and Action is concluded.  Also, care and respect for everything will be very important.

If you have jobs that need completed at your home OR are willing to let those working with Prayer and Action use any of the above items please contact Jeannie Solko at the parish office today (462-2179).  Thank you for your consideration to make Colby and Sacred Heart a nice place for this "Mission Experience in Our Own Backyard."

Memorial Day Blessing and Patriotic Rosary

Fr. Rich will offer a prayer and blessing at Sacred Heart Cemetery Monday, Memorial Day, May 27 after the morning service at Beulah Cemetery.  This will be when the Sons of the American Legion present the colors, gun salute and playing of Taps at our cemetery.  There will also be a Patriotic Rosary later in the day following the 5:30 Mass (around 6:00 p.m.) in the Church.  In this rosary every state in our country is prayed for - what a beautiful way to help celebrate Memorial Day and remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
