To the parents of my students,

Hello, I wanted to introduce myself. I’m really excited to be your child’s fourth grade teacher! It’s going to be a great year filled with new adventures, which is fitting considering that our theme for school this year is “Learning Is An Adventure.” This is my first year of teaching at Sacred Heart Elementary. I’m an adventurer at heart-enjoying whatever the journey of life takes me. To that end I’ve been an EMT, served at tour in the US Coast Guard in Alaska, studied in Sweden, received my BS in Special Education, and been a minister in the United Methodist Church. My husband and I have been married for 19 years and we have two teenage children, Joseph and Sarah. We live on a nice farm in Morland. I enjoy quilting, reading, farming, white water river rafting, and painting.

In my classroom each child is important, protected, valued and seen as the unique child of God that they are. My role is not to just teach them facts and figures, but also to guide them in becoming an independent, life-long lover of learning. I cannot wait to see what your child will bring to our class!

I always encourage the parents of my students to be in contact with me throughout the school year, whether it is with questions or concerns or sharing joys. I want to partner with you to be the best support to your child as possible, and no one knows your child better than you. I ask that you tell me about your child so that I may understand how to be the best teacher for them.

Thank you for trusting me with your children. I look forward to meeting you!
