Carnival Work Schedule

There is a link on school web page for the work schedule. If you cannot locate it and your child did not bring one home Kathy has some in the school office.

Science Fair 2018

The semi-annual science fair will be held on Thursday, February 22nd. Set up will begin immediately after morning prayer service, and then students will present to the other classes from 9:00-10:00. At 10:00, the official judging will begin. From 5:00-6:00 that evening, there will be an open house for the whole family where your child will be able to see his/her award. Parents are asked to help take down their display following the open house.

For kindergarten through third grade, participation is optional, and the work must be completed at home. Fourth and fifth grade students are required to participate, and the work will be completed in the classroom. Projects may focus on any part of the scientific community, but the scientific method must be followed. A visual and oral component will be required. Display boards are available at the school for students to borrow.

Cold and Flu Season

Please keep the following guidelines in mind when deciding whether or not to send your child to school. This will help to control the spread of infectious diseases at school and allow your child to be available for learning.

Students should remain home for the following reasons:

            • For a temperature greater than 100 degrees. Children should be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school and not taking fever-reducing medication to control symptoms.

            • If diagnosed with a strep infection. Students need to be on an antibiotic for a minimum of 24 hours, fever free, and feeling well before returning to school.

            • If your child has vomited or had persistent diarrhea during the night or in the morning before school.

            • If your child has a heavy, moist productive cough, chest congestion, or discolored nasal drainage.

            • If your child has pinkeye (conjunctivitis). Students need to have completed 24 hours of medication, and have no visible redness or discharge before returning to school.

Students should be kept home until they have been symptom free for 24 hours. This is important for your child’s health and the health of his/her classmates. Please continue to remind your child of the importance of frequent hand washing, healthy eating, and proper use and disposal of tissues during this cold and flu season.

When notifying the school of your child’s absence, please give us the reason for the absence. Efforts will be made to alert classmates’ parents of physician confirmed illnesses such as strep throat, pink eye, influenza A, or influenza B to help control the spread of infection.

Please refer to the parent handbook for more information.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter concerning the health of our students.

Carnival - 2018

Along with selling carnival raffle tickets and working the day of the carnival each family is requested to bring one pie for the kitchen, one kitchen/bath walk item, and two bake walk items. We are also taking donations of glassware and stuffed animals.

Traffic Jam

Before and after school we are experiencing a lot of congestion out front. Please DO NOT leave your vehicle unattended when dropping off or picking up your students. If you choose to walk your child to the door please DO NOT PARK on the south side of Sixth Street.
